KosaiKon Easter AniFest
Just a few days before Christmas, the KosaiKon staff is delighted to announce the dates for our next event! The KosaiKon Easter AniFest will take place from 9AM until 10PM on March 26, 2005 at Villanova University, Villanova, PA. Once again we will have the usual anime screenings and video games, complete with tournaments. We are also bringing back the photoshoot area, which is also where the cosplay contest will take place. And due to popular request, we will be adding an artist alley to the lineup.
You can pre-register here. Information about the artist alley will be available as soon as possible.
Cosplay Pictures
Sorry for the delay in getting these up. You can find the cosplay pictures here.
As for the cosplay contest winners:

Darlene as Zephyris from Scrapped Princess - Best Attention to Detail
Honorable Mentions:
Nyan-nyan from Fushigi Yuugi
Tifa from Advent Children
Magma Grunts from Pokemon
Technical difficults
Due to a faulty drive in our server, we have lost some of the information that was posted on the site. We are doing our best to recover the information and will have it re-posted as soon as possible.
Team Otaku
KosaiKon is looking for a group of people willing to put in some footwork in their area to hand out flyers and get the word out. Anime stores, comic book stores, Japanese restaurants, etc.
If you are interested, please send an email to cassie with your name, address, email address and URL. Once we get the Team Otaku section of the website running, I will be placing a link to the members' webpages as long as there is no objectionable content (porn, bootlegs, etc). Also, please let me know if you want me to send you a batch of flyers or if you would prefer to print them yourself. (Either is fine with me...if you wish to print them, just let me know if you want a color flyer or black and white.)
KosaiKon Autumn AniFest 2004
For the first time, KosaiKon will be holding two events in one year! We are happy to announce KosaiKon Autumn AniFest 2004 will be taking place on Saturday, October 9, 2004 at Villanova University, just outside of Philadelphia, PA. Once again, it will be $13 to pre-register or $15 at the door. More information is available on our website. If you have any questions, please email cassie.

Pictures!
There is now a review of KosaiKon, complete with pictures over at Booty Project. Enjoy!
KosaiKon Winter AniFest is over!
Thank you to everyone who attended and supported us! This event was a great success...much more than I had ever thought it would be. We ended up with about 103 people attending, which is an awesome improvement on last year's 75. Feel free to join our forums to talk about your thoughts on the Winter AniFest. (Pictures will be posted when we get them so check back often.)
Times for KosaiKon
I completely forgot to post this on the website. Sorry about that ^_^ Registration will begin at about 8AM and the AniFest will end around 10PM.
On the video game front, we wanted to add a bit of info. Depending on people's desire, we may add Karaoke Revolution (PS2), Super Mario Kart: Double Dash (GC), Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles (IF played, there will be an imposed limit on players, as well as you need to supply own GBA + Cable.)
We would also like to encourage those who play various GBA / GB titles that are social, to bring them to the fest and enjoy themselves. Games such as Megaman NT series, Pokemon, Golden Sun, etc.
From the Video Game Guru:
I'll bring some of the cabling I have, but I do not plan on letting it out of my sight or lending it out for various reasons. If for the torney's you feel that you dislike a controller, you are free to bring an adapter as well as the controller of your choice. I may have some with me, but do not count upon this. If you need to find decent adapters, I highly recommend: www.redoctane.com.
As for how many systems will be running, I plan on having at least one of each. (PS2 (or PSOne), GC and Xbox.) I should have 1-2 TV's there, maybe more. If we only have the three, we shall be swapping the games at different intervals. I will post the intervals there.
Video Games come to the AniFest!
For the first time, KosaiKon will have a variety of video games at the AniFest. In addition to the old standby - Dance Dance Revolution - we will also feature Soul Calibur 2 and Dead or Alive 3 for the Xbox and Super Smash Brothers for the GameCube.
If you have any questions about our video game room, send us an email!
Premieres galore!
At this year’s Winter AniFest on February 21, KosaiKon is excited to have not only a Japanese anime premiere in our schedule but a Korean animation as well. We also have a full-length documentary on anime fandom and a video of a live event featuring wrestling monsters!
Due out on DVD in April, The World of Narue is a sci-fi romantic comedy. Narue Nanase is a half-breed alien secretly living on Earth with her father. Join us as we watch her battle her way through life and love. See the trailer at the official website: http://www.worldofnarue.com.
Next up is Doggy Poo, a heartwarming tale of self-worth featuring a puppy’s poop. Little Doggy Poo is neglected and ignored by everyone until he meets a kindhearted dandelion who realizes his true value in life. Both inspirational and educational, this is definitely a show you shouldn’t miss!
Finally, we bring you Terebi Sento, a showcase of the tongue-in-cheek live action monster wrestling show: Kaiju Big Battel. How could you miss out on Battels such as: Soup VS Sandwich, Baby Mama Drama or the Kaiju Championship Belt Battel? Find out more at http://www.kaiju.com!
KosaiKon Winter AniFest Announcement!
Villanova University - Villanova, PA - December 31, 2003
The staff of KosaiKon is proud to announce the date for their next one-day festival. KosaiKon Winter AniFest 2004 will take place on Saturday, February 21, 2004 at Villanova University from 9AM until 10PM. We have expanded the event to cover three rooms and raise our attendance cap to 200 people.
The website has been fully updated with all information. If you have any questions, feel free to ask on our forums or email us!
While I can't "officially" make any announcements yet, I wanted to let you guys know that I am attempting to put together another one-day festival in February. (Yes, I am taking into account all conventions taking place that month and I am trying to work around them.) I'm hoping to get slightly more space so we can show more anime.
So...umm...yeah. KosaiKon is still going...we just have to wait for some OKs from some places before we can say anything "official." Thanks for sticking with us!!
If you would like to make any donations, the PayPal account button is below or you could email me (Rachael Carothers) at cassie to discuss it further.
A bit of linkage
Until I find a better place to put it on the site, here's a link to the Villanova University Japanese Anime Club, who are helping us get KosaiKon 2004 going! Thanks guys!!
Not so much of an update
I just wanted to let everyone know that we are still working on KosaiKon. We may not be able to make any announcements until February. You can still make donations towards the convention through the PayPal account:
Kosai 2k3 pics up!
We want to thank you all again for attending. We want to thank the sponsers for their generous donations of items to view/give out, and Jordan for getting us the funds to start this all up. We'll have more news to post once we recover and help our child feel a lil better, but for now, you can see the pics I took there today.
I put them into a quick table format, the final pics are the originals *straight* from the camera. No touchups, etc. They are also the default size...aka- slightly larger downloads then most pics. I will be adjusting those to conserve bandwidth, but for now, I wanted to provide originals for those who wanted them available.
Kosaikon 2003 pictures! Enjoy, and thanks again everyone!
The Finale
This year's AniFest has officially come to a close. I'd like to thank each and every person who came and supported us. It was most definitely a success. Feel free to head to the KosaiKon Forums to discuss what you thought of the festival.
We will update you with information about 2004 as soon as we have it.
KosaiKon Live Journal Community
KosaiKon now a live journal community. Feel free to join and discuss everything anime (and KosaiKon, of course!)
KosaiKon Forums
I have made a few changes to the KosaiKon Forums. It's now a little more streamlined and now there are different sections for KosaiKon questions or comments and announcements. Feel free to join the conversations!
btw- Contact info:
If you all want to contact us, Cass' posts have her email address below them. You can reach me at: sidhe or shilarva
I just realized that Booty didn't actually have a link to my email in there.
Also, we should be updating the faqs and such ASAP. We are at work currently, and its a bit hard for Cass to give me the documents without her being on that machine. (I really gotta get XP on her home system for remote desktop usage....)
Welcome to the Kosaikon Website!
As you can tell, we are just getting the site off the ground. Much props to Booty for putting together the code base/design for the site, as well as Kattikawn for some of the images used here! (Including the girl at the top of the page.)
We don't have much news yet, as the convention center has been lax in getting the paper work to us to fill out....but when we have news we shall let you all know!
Keep checking this page, or visit our forums for more info....
Coming soon: Links for donations, pricing info, offical link to forums and much more!
